DNA-Archetypes How it works

Why 32 types, and not 16

Most personality systems only ask about your mind. Your body has a temperament too. Here is what happens when you count it.

You have probably taken a four-letter personality test. Most people have. You get your letters, you read the write-up, and some of it lands. Then you notice the same thing everyone notices. It only ever asked about your mind.

It never asked how you sleep. It never asked what happens to you on day four of a hard week. It never asked whether your skin flares up when you are stressed, or whether you leave a loud dinner full of energy or completely empty.

Those are not small details. For most people they decide more of the day than any thinking style does.

Five traits, not four

The DNA-Archetype system reads five traits. Three of them are about your body.

Body. How you take a load, and how you come back after. Some people hold their shape under pressure. Others bend early, then settle into a new one. Both work. They just need different weeks.

Energy. How your fuel burns. Some people burn slow and keep going. Others burn bright in short strong bursts, then need a real stop.

Skin. How much your skin shields you from what is around you. Some skin has a tough outer layer and is slow to react. Other skin reads every change in the weather, the water, and the week.

Social. Where your energy goes when there are people in the room. Some people fill up in a crowd. Others fill up in a quiet room.

Mind. How you get to an answer. Some people work it out one step at a time. Others read the whole picture at once and then go back and check.

Two directions each

Every trait runs between two ends. You lean one way, and that lean is your letter for that trait.

A lean is a direction. It is not a score. There is no better end to be on. A body that bends early is not a worse body than one that holds. It is a body that wants a different plan.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Plenty of wellness advice is really just advice for one end of one trait, sold to everybody. If you have ever followed a plan that worked brilliantly for a friend and did nothing for you, you have already met the problem.

Five traits with two ends makes 32

Two times two times two times two times two is 32. One letter from each trait, in the same order every time, gives you a five-letter code. That code points at exactly one type.

Sixteen types split people by mind alone. Thirty-two split them by mind and body together. Change one letter and you get a different type with a different story, because a Resilient body with a Sensitive read on the world is not living the same week as a Resilient body with a Protected one.

Where a quiz stops

Here is the honest part. Our quiz asks you about yourself. Your answers are self-reported, which means the result is only as good as how well you know your own patterns. Most people are better at this than they expect, and worse at it in the exact places where it would be most useful.

That is the ceiling of any questionnaire. It reads your view of your traits. It cannot read the traits.

A DNA test can. It reads the same five areas from your genes, and it does not care what kind of week you were having when you answered. That is where a Bio-Profile starts, and it is the difference between a fun read and something you can build a plan on.

Start with the quiz anyway. It takes about two minutes, it is free, and it gives you the vocabulary. Then go and see how much of it your DNA agrees with.
