Think of a time you walked into a room that had gone flat. You did not announce anything and you did not raise your voice. Within a few minutes the pace had picked up, a conversation that was going nowhere found a direction, and something that had been sitting still started to move.
You did not build that charge on the doorstep. It had been accumulating in you for a while, out of sight, on its own schedule. What you did at the door was choose the moment to spend it.
The timing is the part people misread. They call it confidence, or luck, or a knack for crowds. It is none of those things.
Your DNA is not just about eye colour or height. Deep inside your genes are instructions that shape how your muscles are built, how your body produces energy, how your skin guards itself, how your brain pays attention, and how your mind integrates information. Together, these five biological settings create what we call your DNA-Archetype.
Yours is called The Blaze.
The short version
Your body builds concentrated force from the inside, on a schedule the room does not set. Your Protected skin takes the heat and friction of building it, over and over. Your Intuitive mind reads the live field and picks the moment. Your Outward wiring aims the release at people rather than at a task. And your Resilient frame is what lets you do all of it again next week.
The history of every country begins in the heart of a man or a woman. Willa Cather, O Pioneers!, 1913
Why DNA?
Think of DNA as a recipe book written for you before you were even born. Each recipe describes how to build a different part of you: a type of muscle fibre, a kind of brain cell connection, a layer of skin. You may not have chosen these recipes, but that does not lessen their influence on you.
Therefore, some things about how you work cannot be attributed simply to your habits or personality. You can think of them as your body's factory settings. Knowing your factory settings lets you stop working against your own grain, and start designing a life that fits yourself.
These are your factory settings. You did not choose them, but once you know them you can design around them.
The five settings that make you The Blaze are: Resilient Body, Power Energy, Protected Skin, Outward Social Wiring, and Intuitive Mind. Let us take a look at each setting.
02 Your Genetic Build
Your five settings
Five settings make you The Blaze. Each one is a choice your genes already made, and each one shows up in how you live.
Physical R
Resilient
Your muscle and connective tissue genes are tuned for structural durability and clean recovery rather than for one maximum effort. Repeated demand does not take your tissue apart quickly, and what does get spent tends to rebuild on a schedule you can predict. The material holds its shape, and it comes back to the same shape.
You may find you feel sharper in weeks where you have moved consistently than in weeks with one heavy session and nothing around it. Demanding stretches of life do not tend to dismantle you. Given structure and enough fuel, your recovery arrives roughly when you expect it to.
In your combination this setting is not the headline. It is the floor the headline stands on. Releasing concentrated force costs your body something real every time, and a less durable frame would erode across those cycles until each release came out smaller than the last. Yours does not, which is why your capacity is measured in years of moments rather than in one of them.
Energy P
Power
Your metabolic genes favour a fast, concentrated release of fuel. Your cells are set up to mobilise a large amount of energy quickly, mainly through the phosphocreatine system and fast-twitch muscle fibre, rather than to meter it out evenly across a long stretch. When you go, you go all the way.
You may find your best work arrives in short, high-intensity windows rather than across a full even day. After one of those windows your system has spent its primary reserve and has to reload with rest, protein and adequate calories. Ten minutes with a coffee does not accomplish this. A real recovery window does.
Protein matters more for your build than the general advice assumes, because fast-twitch fibre needs raw material to repair between releases. Eat before the demanding session, not only after it. Your system spends forward, and it cannot bill you later for what it needed at the start.
Skin P
Protected
Your skin barrier genes build a thicker, more durable outer layer, slower to react to irritants, heat and external stimulants than a more permeable barrier would be. Sweat, heat and rough kit do not reach your skin at the rate they reach other people. A hard session leaves less on your surface than it leaves on most.
You may find hot, sweaty, physically rough settings bother your skin less than they bother most people. Heat, chafing and repeated hard use do not mark your surface much. That is not toughness you decided on. It is where your threshold actually sits.
For your combination this setting does one specific job: it takes the physical cost of building and spending force again and again. Every release means heat, sweat and hard contact, and a thinner barrier would be sore long before you were finished. The cost is that the same barrier is slow to report strain back to you.
Social O
Outward
Your brain's social wiring, shaped partly by how your dopamine and oxytocin genes are expressed, is calibrated for breadth and live engagement. Your reward system runs strongest when you are inside a real situation with several people in it, reading it and adding to it. The field is where your fuel comes from.
You may find long stretches of company leave you with more than you started with, and that a run of weeks with no live rooms in them flattens you out. That flatness is not mood. It is a reward signal running on a reduced supply.
This is the setting that decides where your force goes. Concentrated energy with nothing to aim at is only heat. Your Outward wiring points it at people and at what is happening in front of them, which is why the release registers as movement in a room rather than as effort spent somewhere private.
Mind I
Intuitive
Your brain's default processing network, the one that runs in the background whether you ask it to or not, is strongly expressed in your genetic make-up. It handles pattern recognition, associative connection, and reading the shape of a situation before its parts have been named. It works in parallel, below language, and fast.
You often know the right move before you can lay out why. You read what a situation is doing and where it is heading ahead of the people around you, and the read usually holds up. That is real cognition running on live input, not a guess dressed up as one.
In your combination the Intuitive mind is the timer. The force is already built and the wiring is already pointed at the room. This is the system that watches a pattern complete and says now. Your development is not learning to trust that read. It is learning to say enough of it out loud that other people can move on it with you.
03 Natural Strengths
What you do well
Your five settings all pull the same way. You build the force yourself, you hold it out of sight, and you release it at a moment you chose.
Heat you make yourself
Your Power energy builds on its own rhythm. It does not wait for a room to get interesting first, and it does not need a crisis to switch on. The force is built inside you, on a schedule of your own, and it is usually there before the situation that will use it has even arrived.
That has one practical consequence worth naming. You are not dependent on conditions. When a situation is flat, or stalled, or has lost whatever momentum it started with, you are not standing there waiting for it to improve so that you have something to respond to. You are the input that changes it.
You are not waiting for the room to lift you. You walk in with the force already built.
Nothing shows until it moves
Your Power energy builds the charge, and it builds it inside you rather than out in the room. Your Protected skin takes the physical side of that without complaint: the heat, the tension, the long hours before you spend it. A thinner barrier would have been sore about it hours ago.
This is not a face you learned to hold. It is a barrier that takes heat, friction and long hours at a higher threshold than a more permeable one would. In a hot, rough, crowded setting, that is why you can keep working while other people have to step out. You never have to claim it. It is simply what you look like when your system is running normally.
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt. Sun Tzu, The Art of War, chapter 7 (trans. Lionel Giles)
The moment is yours to name
Your Intuitive mind reads the live field continuously through your Outward wiring. Who is uncertain, where the energy is collecting, what the situation is actually asking for: all of it gets assembled into a direction below the level of words. Then the read completes, and your Power system spends.
What follows is out of all proportion to anything that was visible beforehand, which is the whole design. It shows up most clearly in situations that have stalled, where a group is circling the same ground and nobody has committed. The room changes not because you decided to be the person who changes rooms, but because the timing was right and the force behind it was real.
The result looks bigger than anything anyone saw coming. That is the design working, not luck.
Made to go again
Concentrated force is expensive to produce. Your Resilient physical wiring is what stops that cost accumulating as damage, so what you run is a cycle rather than a single event: build, release, recover, build again.
That floor is worth more than it looks. Force like yours costs the same to produce whoever produces it, but a less durable frame pays for it in damage that accumulates, gets one strong season, and spends the seasons afterwards managing what the first one took. Yours pays for it in a week and comes back the same size, so you are available again while a comparable build is still recovering from the last one.
04 Friction Points
Where it costs you
Nothing here is a defect. Each one is a strength of yours with the conditions taken away from it.
Empty behind a steady surface
Two of your five settings under-report. Your Protected skin delays the physical readout of accumulated strain, and your Power energy does not taper on the way down, it holds its level and then drops. Between them you can be well below what your next release needs while your body still feels ready to go.
By the time your skin does produce something you would notice, a dullness where it is normally clear, a dryness that does not answer to more water, the load behind it has usually been building for days. The barrier held the signal back while the energy system held the surface up. The depletion was real the whole way through.
So the recovery day has to be a fixed element of the week rather than a response to anything. A build like yours that waits for permission to stop will stop after the useful window has already closed.
Waiting for the signal guarantees you recover late. Book it before the signal exists.
Released before the read finished
When the pattern has completed, your release is precisely aimed. When the pressure of an unspent build moves you before the pattern has completed, the force still lands, it just lands somewhere less useful. Your energy is finite per cycle, which makes an early release an expensive one.
The cost shows up later as a particular reluctance. You paid the full biological price and got a fraction of the result, several times over, and something in you starts declining to move at all. The discipline here is separating two signals that feel identical from the inside: the pressure of a full system wanting to spend, which is your energy doing exactly what it is built to do, and the read arriving, which is the only one of the two that tells you anything about the room.
They felt that they could not express in words what they understood. Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace, 1869 (trans. Aylmer Maude)
Knowing faster than you can say it
Your Intuitive processing reaches a complete direction before your verbal reasoning has assembled an account of it. Where people can act on the result and watch it work, the gap costs nothing. Where a direction has to be justified before anyone will accept it, with people who have no track record with you yet, in formal settings, inside institutions that run on stated reasons, the gap becomes the bottleneck.
It also costs you forward capacity. Reverse-engineering an explanation for something your processing finished five minutes ago consumes the bandwidth you would otherwise spend reading what is in front of you now. The answer is not the full chain of reasoning, which would work against the architecture that produced the read. It is a short bridge: enough of the read, said out loud, that people can move on it.
You do not owe anyone the whole chain. You owe them enough of it to act on.
A cycle the week will not allow
The reload is not a preference. The reserves behind your concentrated output are spent in each release and need real time, protein and sleep to restore. Compressing the recovery does not extend your output window. It lowers the quality of the next release.
The friction is loudest in settings built on continuous even output: engagements stacked back to back, workplaces that treat your capacity as permanently available, home arrangements with no room in them for a quiet week. None of these get more out of you by removing the recovery. They get a smaller version of the thing they wanted, and they usually blame your effort for it.
05 Body Optimisation
Training your body
Each of your five settings wants something specific from you. Give it and the next release is the same size as the last. Miss it and nothing will tell you for about a week.
Train the force, then repair it (Physical)
Your Resilient build responds to consistent structured work with progressive load, and your Power energy responds to intensity. Compound movements suit both. Squats, deadlifts, presses, rows and sprint intervals pull on the fast-twitch fibre behind your output while laying down the structural capability your frame accumulates best.
Keep the sessions short and hard rather than long and moderate. Your frame can absorb the load and your energy system is built for concentrated output, so a contained block at real intensity does more for you than an extended session at two-thirds effort. Then leave a proper gap. Fast-twitch tissue repairs on rest, protein and sleep, not on a lighter version of the same work.
One warning specific to this pairing: your frame will absorb a badly designed programme for months without complaining about it. Silence from your body is not a report that the programme is working.
Eat forward, not backward (Energy)
Protein belongs in every main meal rather than banked into one. Fast-twitch fibre can only repair on raw material that is already in you, so a steady supply through the day does more for this build than one large serving at the end of it. Give the biggest share to the meals either side of your hardest session, because that is the release your body is rebuilding from.
Eat before the demanding thing, not only afterwards. Your phosphocreatine system is the primary fuel for intense output, but it draws on your wider glycogen stores while it runs, so arriving at a high-demand session already short means the release starts below capacity. Complex carbohydrates an hour or two ahead, with protein spread across the day, is the pattern that supports the cycle.
Your body cannot borrow. What was not in the tank at the start is not available at the peak.
Treat the reload as part of the output rather than a break from it. The size of your next release is set by the quality of your last recovery, and that is a nutritional question at least as much as a rest one.
A weekly reading, not a daily one (Skin)
Your barrier registers physical load at a higher threshold, so what it reports arrives later and quieter than it would through a more permeable one. Do not wait for something loud. The signals worth acting on are a dullness during a hard week, a loss of the usual suppleness, and a dryness that persists even though you have been drinking enough.
Check weekly rather than daily. Daily variation under a Protected barrier is not diagnostic, and reading it that often will only teach you to ignore the instrument. Once a week, look back over the past five to seven days at what the intensity actually was and what the recovery actually was, and read your skin against that.
Keep the instrument in condition. A consistent hydration and care routine earns its place for a reason that has nothing to do with how you look. It gives you a clean baseline to read early signals against, and a barrier that is chronically dry has already lost most of its value as a gauge.
Book the reload (Recovery)
Your Protected skin makes distress signals arrive late and your Power energy makes fuel disappear abruptly rather than gradually. Together they produce a specific profile: you can move through a stretch of accumulated depletion that looks normal from the outside and feels manageable from the inside, right up until it does not.
So schedule the recovery in advance, in the diary, before anything has gone wrong. At least one full low-output day a week, held as a structural element rather than as something you earn. That day is when fast-twitch fibre repairs, reserves restore, cognitive precision comes back and your barrier clears what it has been carrying.
A low-output day is not the reward for a good week. It is the reason next week has a peak in it.
Sleep does more of that work per hour than anything else available to you. Tissue repair and neurotransmitter restoration both happen inside it, and everything else in your recovery either compounds on it or quietly fails without it.
06 Mind & Cognition
How you think
Your best thinking is not done in advance. Your background processor runs on live material, which means a room is where the thinking gets done rather than where you deliver it afterwards.
If you are looking for perfect safety you will do well to sit on a fence and watch the birds. Wilbur Wright, Some Aeronautical Experiments, 1901
The read arrives whole
Your default processing network is strongly expressed, and your Outward wiring keeps you in the environments where it has the most to work with. While you are inside a live situation it is assembling from several streams at once: what people are doing, where the energy is collecting, which direction things are moving, where the resistance sits and where it does not.
What that assembly hands you is a whole picture rather than a list of findings. You know the shape of the thing before you can name its parts. Your verbal reasoning catches up later, sometimes much later, and it usually agrees with what you already did.
Thinking with the field switched on
Both your Power energy and your Intuitive mind favour concentrated engagement over long diffuse effort, so your cognition peaks in short high-quality windows inside socially rich situations. You think in real time, about a real thing, with real people in front of you.
What flattens it: long stretches of high verbal output with no reload, repeated demands to justify a conclusion your processing reached some time ago, and weeks that keep you out of live environments altogether. None of those improve the thinking. They constrain the system the thinking runs on.
What restores it: the recovery window after a release, sleep, consistent food, and getting back into rooms where the input is live. Clarity for your combination comes from being where the information is still happening, rather than from sitting somewhere quiet with a record of it.
You do not reason your way to the answer beforehand. You get where the material is and let it assemble.
Exposure first, understanding after
Your strongest learning mode is experiential and social. You absorb complexity by being inside a situation, making calls in real time, and letting your pattern library build from lived exposure. A structured curriculum gives you familiarity. Depth comes from having been in it.
That has a specific implication for how you invest in a new skill. The efficient sequence for you runs the opposite way round from long study and then application. It is early structured exposure followed by reflection: get in, let the processing run on real input, then take time afterwards to work out what you were actually picking up. That order is what makes your reading faster and your timing finer across years.
Your Outward wiring also means you learn more alongside other people than alone. Teams, partnerships, apprenticeship-style arrangements: for your combination the social setting is the medium the learning happens in rather than a distraction from it.
Compress it into words
The largest developmental gap for your combination sits between knowing and explaining. Where people can simply receive your action and watch the result, the gap is invisible. Where they need to understand a direction before they will trust it, the gap is the whole problem.
Closing it does not mean becoming less intuitive. It means building a compression habit, so the pre-verbal read arrives in language fast enough for other people to act on it.
Practices that support it:
Narrating your read of a situation to a trusted person soon after you acted on it
Writing down the signals you were picking up when a read turned out to be correct
Saying a one-sentence version of the direction out loud before you release into it
Checking an old note against what actually happened, so the mapping gets tested
These are not exercises in doubting yourself. They are compression drills for something your processing has already finished.
07 Relationship Wiring
How you connect
Time in the field is not leisure for you. It is fuel, which makes the burning and the going quiet two halves of one cycle rather than two different moods.
The most fruitful and natural exercise of the mind, in my opinion, is conversation. Michel de Montaigne, Essays, Book III (trans. Charles Cotton)
The field pays you back
Your dopamine system is calibrated for breadth. Wide networks, collaborative settings and active group situations all produce a real reward signal for your combination, and being present in them costs you nothing. Presence is what the wiring is for.
In practice you probably carry more connections than average, and the warmth in them is real rather than performed. Your presence also does something to the environment it lands in: the energy moves, conversations gain momentum, people who were uncertain find a direction. You are not choosing to produce that. It is what your combination does when it is in the field and running well.
The cost of a long absence is just as real. Take the field away for weeks and the reward signal your brain runs on drops, which, combined with a reload cycle that was already going to produce quiet periods, can leave you with stretches of flat output that have nothing to do with how you feel about anyone.
Live rooms are not what you do with your spare capacity. They are where the capacity comes from.
Care that arrives on time
Your Outward wiring and Intuitive processing express care through action and timing. You notice things about people before they have said them. You turn up at the specific moment it would help. You redirect something that was going wrong before anyone else had registered it as a problem.
That is real care, and it is not the same as saying so. To someone who registers care mainly through words, a precisely timed action can pass unrecorded. The repair is small: say that the timing was not a coincidence, that you turned up when you did because of something you read in them earlier. Putting it into language does not cheapen it. It makes it possible to receive.
Full burn, then quiet
Because your wiring is Outward and your energy is Power-based, your relational presence runs in modes rather than on a dial. Engaged, you are unmistakable in a room. Reloading, the absence is just as unmistakable. There is not much of a middle setting available to you.
People close to you may read the quiet part as something relational, particularly if the loud part was recent. The single most valuable use of this page is to describe the cycle out loud to the people it affects: this is how the system runs, the quiet is biological, and the return is real. Left unexplained, it gets interpreted, and the interpretation is almost always worse than the truth.
Play that repairs you
Restoration for your combination means lower demand, not lower company. Complete isolation carries its own cost with Outward wiring, so what reloads you is the quiet half of your own cycle rather than an empty week: an unhurried hour in the kitchen, a repair or a build job that finishes when it finishes, an easy walk with one person whose company costs you nothing, an afternoon where nothing is waiting on a decision from you.
Play works best with some mastery in it. Sport, physical games, anything that gives your energy system something to spend and your Intuitive mind a situation to read with nothing riding on the read. This is not time taken away from the part of your life that counts. It is the half of the cycle that decides how much is behind the next release.
08 Career Performance
Where you work best
Some roles hand you a live situation and the latitude to move in it. Others will quietly lower your ceiling, and it will have nothing to do with how much you cared.
Where you excel
Work that asks you to read a complex live human situation and then act on that read, at the right moment and with real force behind it, is where all five of your settings arrive at once. Routine maintenance work will not call on any of it. This build is for the point where something has to move, shift or start.
You do best where the field is live and the stakes are real: rooms where decisions are being made, situations where momentum is the variable that matters, roles where reading people and moving at the right time produces an outcome that careful analysis on its own would not have reached. Your output arrives as a small number of high-value episodes rather than as a level background hum, so a role structured to capture episodes will always beat one that requires an even line.
Continuous toil produces a sort of numbness and sluggishness. Seneca, Of Peace of Mind, chapter XVII (trans. Aubrey Stewart)
What depletes your biological edge
Settings that require the same output every day with no cycle in them are directly incompatible with how your energy system works. Every uncompensated cycle lowers the next one, and across a long enough run that produces a decline in output quality which reads to everybody, including you, as a motivation problem. It is not one.
Continuous high stimulation with no structural downtime is also expensive for your barrier, which needs time to clear what extended field engagement leaves behind. And a role that removes you from the field entirely, sustained solo work, a remote arrangement with almost no live human contact, a heavily administrative post, takes away the input your pattern recognition runs on. The processing does not stop. It simply starts running on memory instead of on the situation.
Out of the field your reading does not switch off. It just stops being about what is actually in front of you.
Leadership signature
You lead from inside the situation rather than from a document. Your Power energy, Outward wiring and Intuitive processing combine into a presence-led, action-led style, and the thing people notice is the timing: what happens to a stuck situation when you are in the room and reading it correctly.
People find that energising, and it moves things that were not moving. Your development as a leader is the bridge. A leader who can also say what was read, and why the moment was that one, ends up with a team that reads alongside them rather than one that waits to follow. That is the only route by which this particular capacity extends past the number of rooms you can personally stand in.
Best-fit roles
The domain matters less than the conditions. What your build needs is a live field, real stakes, episodic intensity with real recovery, and enough latitude to move on a read before you have put the whole of it into words. That includes:
Sales leadership and high-stakes client negotiation
Founding and early-stage company building
Crisis management and operational response
Performance coaching and athletic leadership
Facilitation and group process work
Emergency services
Live events, performance direction and field-based creative leadership
09 Live By Design
A life that fits
None of this asks you to schedule every hour. It asks for a week with the cycle already built into it, so the release is available on the day something needs it.
Train it so it comes back (Physical)
Your Resilient wiring is built for a long horizon. Compound movements, progressive load and the same structure held across months accumulate real capability. Keep the sessions short and intense to match your energy rhythm rather than long and moderate, and place the recovery next to each one rather than at the end of a run of them.
Watch the delayed readout during heavy training blocks. Overreach will not always announce itself as soreness first. A dullness in your skin during a hard week is a load indicator, and it is worth acting on while adjusting is still cheap.
Fuel ahead of the release (Energy)
Design the day around concentrated effort and real reload rather than an even line. The most productive version of your week is the one where each cycle was fuelled properly, run at full quality, and followed by a genuine gap. Hours are not the measure.
Food before the effort is not optional for this build. Your system does not produce good output from a depleted start, and no amount of willingness makes up the difference. Protein across the day, complex carbohydrates before the concentrated part, and treat that as preparation rather than as a separate health topic.
Compare the week, not the day (Skin)
Your barrier reports later than a more permeable one, which is a design characteristic rather than a fault. Work with it: put a weekly skin check in the diary and run it on the date rather than on how you feel. Look back over the past five to seven days. What was the load? What was the recovery? Then read your skin against that answer.
Consistent care is instrument maintenance. A stable, hydrated baseline is what makes the early signals legible when they do arrive, instead of leaving them lost inside normal variation.
Go dark on a date, not a mood (Social)
Your Outward wiring needs consistent live rooms to run at capacity. Put yourself in them deliberately, and do not let a run of weeks pass where nearly everything is screen-mediated or solitary. Your pattern recognition needs current input. Without it you are reading from memory and calling it a read.
When the reload does require you to step back from high-stimulation environments, step back on purpose and with a return date attached. Going quiet deliberately and coming back on schedule works. Trying to stay permanently switched on does not, and it costs you the quiet weeks as well as the loud ones.
Name the signals afterwards (Mind)
Your processing runs ahead of your language and always will. That gap never closes by itself, though deliberate practice narrows it a long way. Once a read of yours has been proved right, give it five minutes and put down on paper the signals you had been picking up beforehand. Name the signals. The point is to build vocabulary for something your processing is already doing, not to justify the outcome after the fact.
Over years this becomes a translation library: a set of mappings from signal to sentence that lets the output arrive in words sooner. The knowing does not slow down. The words start turning up alongside it. That is the point at which your capacity extends past the rooms you are personally standing in.
A well-designed week
Physical
Two or three short high-intensity sessions built on compound lifts and sprint work. One or two easy sessions on top: a walk with some distance in it, a swim, some mobility work. A skin check on a fixed evening, read against what the training week actually held.
Mental
Two or three concentrated blocks of 60 to 90 minutes on the work that matters, with real stops between them rather than a slide straight into the next thing. One translation slot: put into words, on paper or into a voice note, what you were reading in a situation from the past few days.
Social
Live, human-rich rooms on most days. At least one or two situations a week where something is actually at stake and your reading has work to do. Cut the passive high-volume events that take input and give you nothing to do with it.
Recovery
One full low-output day, blocked out while the week is still empty. The same bedtime most nights. Sleep is where tissue repairs and reserves refill, so protect it the way you protect a performance window.
Creative
One session of physical, mastery-based activity with nothing riding on it. Sport, cooking, building, a physical craft. Something to spend energy on and something to read, with no result attached to either.
Knowledge and timber shouldn't be much used, till they are seasoned. Oliver Wendell Holmes, The Autocrat of the Breakfast-Table, 1858
The long game
A body built for concentrated force can keep producing it for decades, and the requirement is not that you slow down. It is that you cycle correctly. Structure, adequate food and recovery matched to your rhythm will keep the capacity available a long way into later life. Age is not what takes it away. Years of releases with nothing put back afterwards are.
Your Intuitive mind improves in proportion to how much live material it has already been through. Every field you have read, every situation you moved through, every time the read was right and you stopped afterwards to work out what you had been seeing: all of it feeds the library your reading runs off. You do not peak young. You calibrate. The reads get faster, the timing gets finer, and the distance to words gets shorter.
What accumulates is more than output. It is a reputation for having been in position before the moment arrived, for moving before anyone else had registered that moving was required, for reading a room slightly ahead of the room.
The move that looked instinctive was prepared. The timing that looked lucky was pattern recognition finishing its work.
And a fire built like yours does not go out with age. It learns where to point.
