Western Australia’s Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology visited ConnectingDNA’s Singapore office in July 2025.
An invitation from the state government brought the company to Perth the following week to explore market entry, health and life-sciences partnerships and a possible Australian base.
PERTH, 29 July 2025. ConnectingDNA has completed a market-exploration visit to Perth at the invitation of the Western Australia government. The mission followed a visit to the company’s BLOCK71 office in Singapore by Hon Stephen Dawson, Western Australia’s Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, on 14 July.
A ministerial visit in Singapore
The meeting gave the company an opportunity to share its DNA-Wellness platform and discuss healthtech collaboration between Singapore and Western Australia. It began with ConnectingDNA intern Edith Cheow, whose outreach created the meeting during the minister’s visit.
The mission behind the invitation
The Perth visit was a health and medtech business mission run by ACE.SG, the trade association for Singapore’s start-ups, with the Western Australian Government, from 21 to 23 July 2025. The mission brief offered access to Perth’s research institutions, hospitals and innovation precincts, and sessions with the South Metropolitan Health Service’s Health Ready Pipelines, where visiting companies pitched and tested their innovations.
How Western Australia supports it
The mission rests on a memorandum of understanding that Western Australia’s Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation signed with ACE.SG in December 2024, to create opportunities for start-ups in both places.
“Singapore is a vital trade and investment partner for Western Australia, and this visit provides an opportunity to deepen our shared commitment to innovation, investment and health outcomes across the region.”
Hon Stephen Dawson, Minister for Science and Innovation, Western Australia
Why Western Australia?
Perth offers ConnectingDNA a practical bridge into Australia because it shares Singapore’s time zone and has an active network across innovation, health and life sciences. The company’s DNA-Wellness model also depends on local Partners who can deliver programmes and support users, so market entry requires more than remote software access. A market visit allows the team to test those relationships before making larger expansion decisions.
International growth should be built through credible local relationships, relevant use cases and trusted delivery partners.
